Other Work
20 December, 2008
Most of my previous work has been on a contractual or freelance basis and has included web-development and graphic design work for small business, as well as several major international companies, including some of Australia's leading commercial radio stations and even sporting celebrities!
The examples in this section include work I did for companies that already had their websites setup. Therefore, my role involved maintaining or improving what they already had. This work was often carried out while I was employed directly by a third-party (as opposed to working for myself). Exactly what my duties involved on each job is listed clearly in my portfolio section.
Suncorp

Russian Language SupportAdded russian language support. This job included modifying data and queries in the website's database backend (SQL Server 2005) and modifying the front-end HTML, CSS, XSLT and ASP.Net code in order to accomodate those changes. I completed this work while under the employment of a third party.
NRL.com.au
Footy Tipping SectionUpdating website styling (HTML & CSS) and performed cross-browser/resolution testing for the "footy tipping" section to ensure that it adheres to guidelines set for the NRL webpage. I worked on this project, as part of a larger team, while employed by a third party.
Virgin Money

RAMS Homeloans

ToysWholesale.com.au
General Development & MaintenanceI worked over six months to setup the online shopping system for this website. This involved integrating a pre-packaged shopping cart system into the website that they had already started to implement. My role included photography and data entry for over two-thousand products, database maintenance, flash application development and shopping-cart modifications using ASP (Visual Basic). I am not responsible for the website template that is being used.
NXFM 106.9 & KOFM 102.9
Website ManagerI was directly employed by Austereo on a 12 month contract (maternity leave position) as their Newcastle-based "Internet Producer". This role involved complete management of websites for both the NXFM and KOFM radio stations, as well as occassional smaller jobs for the other nationwide Austereo network radio stations (typically flash-banner advertising). When I started this position, the company already had the websites built and a content management system in place; part of my role was to adhere to that system.
While working in this position I was also responsible for some print design, including motorway and sports-stadium signage.
